"I've never boxed before" - Not a problem. Our qualified England Boxing coaches will guide you through your boxing journey, helping you to learn and develop fundamental boxing skills.
"I think I'm too old" - No you're not. Ol' Man Boxing was founded by people of a senior age who wanted to begin or continue their involvement in boxing. We have boxers in their 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s competing at boxing shows across the south of England.
"Is it only for men? or can women attend?" - Despite the name Ol' Man Boxing, it definitely isn't only for men. We have a lot of female members of all ages and abilities.
"Will I have to fight or spar other people?" - No, not at all. People have different personal goals objectives and, despite it being a boxing society, not everyone wants to be involved in full contact activities and we respect and support that. Whatever your boxing goals are, we will support you all the way.

"How can I join and how much is it?" - Ol' Man Boxing is partnered with STMA Reading and located at their wonderful Scours Lane premises in Reading. STMA Reading operate the Boxing monthly membership through their website. The monthly membership of just £40 gives you access to all the above classes.

There really is nothing like boxing training to improve your overall fitness levels, improve your mental health, cardiovascular health, reduce stress, and increase your self esteem.
Our sessions provide a full body workout that will tone your muscles, burn calories, and build endurance.
We will push you to your limits as each session is designed to emulate the way a professional boxer will train. The workouts are intense and challenging but, fun and extremely rewarding. Everyone supports and encourages each other along the way and, despite how hard it feels, there is always someone there to help and support you.

Each of our sessions are, simply put, designed to teach you how to box. Some sessions will focus more on Strength and Conditioning elements, whilst others will have a more technical theme.
Throughout your journey with Ol' Man Boxing, you will be taught the fundamentals. Stance, hand positioning, movement and punching technique. As you progress, we will add to your skillset, helping you improve and develop a higher boxing IQ.
Remember, boxing really is a science and to attain the skills to become a competent boxer requires hard work, dedication and patience. Even the basic fundamental skills can sometimes take a while to sink in so, don't be disheartened if it doesn't work first time. We will be there to guide, support and encourage you at your pace to ensure improvements are made.

At Ol' Man Boxing, we can guide and support you in your ambition to competitively box.
Throughout your training camp, we will fully coordinate your preparation. We have an extensive network of contacts within the white collar boxing fraternity that enable us to have fighters box on shows across the south of England in front of hundreds of people.
We can advise you on diet and nutrition, strength and conditioning programs, injury and fatigue recovery as well as guidance on equipment.
